Marcos A. Moreno: Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Class of ‘17, Human Development (Neuroscience Concentration)/ Chemistry Double Major, and American Indian Studies Minor. Marcos is an aspiring physician, so most of his endeavors have been within the field of medicine; He's a founding member of a Global Medical Brigades chapter that helped organize and coordinate medical mission trips to underserved areas in Africa, has worked as a Public Health Researcher for his tribe, and helped develop a community improvement plan to raise health standards on the Pascua Yaqui Reservation. Marcos has also worked for his reservations health clinic for over 4 years as well as a local non profit clinic in Tucson Arizona. In addition to this, he is currently working as a researcher on campus with Dr. Gary Evans and his team examining correlations between poverty and certain types of behaviors. He is a member of Cornell’s First Generation Mobilizer Initiative, a group that has set out to increase the number of first generation college students and ease the transition of those already among us. Marcos enjoys spending his free time getting his 'swole' on in Helen Newman and Noyes fitness centers here on campus.
